BIOGRAPHY
Francesca Fontana, a young Italian photographer born in 1999 in Abruzzo, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography from the Accademia di Belle Arti dell’Aquila. Her thesis, titled Stories in Images: Photographic Reporting Between History, Ethics, and Visual Narration with a Focus on Bullfighting, explores the theme of ethical storytelling in documentary photography, with a particular emphasis on tauromachy.
Francesca has gained professional experience both in Italy and abroad and has participated in numerous exhibitions, both group and solo, showcasing her work in various international venues. In 2024, she was a finalist in the first edition of the Beca de Fotografía Paco Casanova EFTI and received an honorable mention in the Premio Nazionale Fotografe Italiane, earning, among other accolades, a projection of her project El Peso del Estoque at the Mantua Photography Biennale in 2026.
